George W. “Bill” Wiley, 98, of Oceanport for 56 years, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 14, 2019. Born in Hackensack to the late George and Alice Wiley, Bill served in the United States Army during World War II. After his military service, Bill worked as a machinist for Westinghouse in Bloomfield, retiring after 42 years. He was also a dedicated member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Oceanport for many years. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mildred, in 2011. He is survived by his loving son, Willard (Eileen) Wiley of Tinton Falls, NJ and devoted step-daughter, Joyce Schreiber of Browns Mills, NJ, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Cyrus and husband Timothy and Holly Hubbs and husband Justin, and great-grandchildren, Aiden Hubbs, Alexander Cyrus and Katherine Cyrus. Family and friends may visit Thursday, 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad Street, Eatontown. A funeral service will commence at 1:30pm, followed by interment at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
