Tribute
Antonia “Toni” Montanino, 97, of Eatontown, passed away at home surrounded by family on February 26, 2022. Toni was born in Maron, Italy to Oscar and Antonia Tognotti and raised in Germany.
Toni was predeceased by her parents, in 2002 by her beloved husband, Michael, in 2008 by her loving son Stephen and her foster son Leon Nason.
She is survived by her son Richard of Eatontown, grandchildren; Nathan (Anna) Montanino of Farmingdale and Faith Montanino of CA, great-grandchildren; Leo and Juliana, Leon’s wife, Carol Mason of MS and nieces and nephews; Brenda, Florence, Phyllis, Stephen and Hans and her beloved cat and companion, Mickey.
She was a member of St. Dorothea’s RC Church in Eatontown where she also worked doing what she loved to do, cooking. She prepared meals for the clergy and guests.
After marrying her beloved husband, Michael, while in Germany where he was stationed, she came to the United States and in 1960 she became a proud US Citizen.
Whenever you stopped by the Montanino home, you would find it filled with family and friends and the aroma of her Wonderful cooking. All were welcome to her Saturday dinners.
Toni will be remembered by her family and friends as a wonderfully kind, caring mother and devoted friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Visitation will be held on Fri., March 4th from 10am to noon with a funeral home service at 11:30am followed by entombment at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
In recognition of her great love of animals, donations may be made in Toni’s memory to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall St., Eatontown, NJ.
