Oceanport- Anne N. Caffyn, née Nelson, 84, entered into eternal life on May 4, 2022. Anne was born on March 23, 1938 in the city of Orange to Elizabeth Nelson (Ross) and Dewey Vanard Nelson. She was raised in Eatontown, NJ.
Anne was a graduate of Long Branch High School class of 1956 and Wagner College where she received her degree in Business and English.
Anne married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Michael Daly Caffyn, Sr. in 1963 and recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. They settled down in Oceanport, NJ where they had three beautiful sons together.
Anne enjoyed a career as an Executive Secretary at Reader’s Digest and Time Life. She worked as the Church Secretary for the Presbyterian Church in Shrewsbury for several years before embarking on her career as a Item Manager Representative for the U.S. Federal Government at Fort Monmouth for 20 years, retiring in 2002.
Since retirement Anne has spent her time entertaining family and friends, frequenting the beaches of Florida, traveling, and playing Bridge. Anne was an avid Bridge enthusiast and a Grand Life Master of the game. She was a passionate animal lover, having adopted many dogs and cats into her loving family throughout the years. Her two black cats, Missy and Be-Be made her smile each day. Anne was an amazing mother and grandmother. She loved spending her time with her children and grandchildren and loved to tell stories about them to anyone who would listen. Anne loved meeting new people and developing strong relationships was one of Anne’s greatest pleasures. People were drawn to Anne because of her warmth, curiosity, and sense of humor. Anne was the eternal optimist who loved and cared for all of her family and friends. She was loved by all and will be missed immensely.
In addition to her parents, Anne was predeceased by her beloved son, Gregory Nelson Caffyn. Surviving in addition to her husband, Michael Daly Caffyn, Sr. are her sons Michael Daly Caffyn, Jr. and his wife Kristen of Manahawkin, Daniel Paul Caffyn of Oceanport, her daughter-in-law Maureen Caffyn-Price and her husband Patrick Price of Howell, four grandchildren, Michael Daly Caffyn III, Kolleen Allen Caffyn, Gregory Robert Caffyn and Kaden Daly Caffyn, her only cousin Cyndi Eastlick of Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews. Private services will be held.
