Elizabeth A. “Betty” Martino, of Eatontown, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2017. Betty was born in Staten Island, NY to Thomas and Rose (McGlynn) Malley. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Barry University in 1996. She was a longtime devoted communicant of St. Dorothea’s RC Church in Eatontown, where she also served as parish secretary for many years. Betty was well known for her sense of humor and her love of cruises, music, and dancing. She was always “young at heart” and full of fun. Every year she would call her grandchildren on their birthdays and sing “Humming Birdies” to them. She will be greatly missed.
She is predeceased by her parents. Betty is survived by her children; Elaine Young (Dennis) and Gilbert Martino III, all of Neptune, grandchildren; Amanda, Stephen and Joshua, her sister, Maureen Fernandez of Franklin Park, NJ her brother, Thomas Malley of Little Falls, NY and many nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by her former husband, Gilbert Martino Jr. of Holmdel.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd from 3-7pm at the Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad Street, Eatontown, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 23rd, 10am at St. Dorothea’s RC Church, 240 Broad St., Eatontown, NJ. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to The Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
